FAQS

Health Insurance Questions? We've Got Answers

What is the ACA marketplace and how do I qualify?

The ACA Marketplace (Healthcare.gov) is where you can shop for health insurance plans. You qualify if you're a U.S. citizen or legal resident who doesn't have access to affordable employer coverage. Based on your income, you may qualify for premium tax credits that significantly lower your monthly costs.

When can I enroll in a health insurance plan?

Open Enrollment typically runs November 1 through January 15 each year. Outside of that, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if you experience a qualifying life event such as losing employer coverage, getting married, having a baby, or moving to a new state.

How do I know which health plan is best for me?

Consider your budget, how often you use healthcare, your preferred doctors, and any prescription drugs you take. HMOs typically have lower premiums but require referrals; PPOs offer more flexibility. Our specialists can walk you through your options step by step.

Can I get a subsidy to lower my premium?

If your household income falls between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level, you may qualify for premium tax credits through the marketplace. Some households can find plans for as low as $0/month after subsidies. We'll help you determine your eligibility.
